Energy Storage

Event Over

One of the inherent difficulties in managing electricity is the real-time nature of this energy medium: electricity is generated, transmitted, distributed and consumed within milliseconds. Adequate and flexible energy storage has always been one of the challenges and opportunities around the future of the electricity-based energy system. From battery storage to flywheels, pump storage, super capacitors, thermal and other unique and innovative technologies, it is important to include energy storage in any discussion of the future of the electric grid.

Speakers at GridWeek will address the energy storage topic throughout the week, from international perspectives, anticipated future of storage, the technologies required to deploy storage at scale, and the current state of deployment of energy storage in Smart Grid implementations today.
