Home Energy Management
Event Over
Engaging the residential consumer is a major focus of the Smart Grid industry, who are now working to understand how to communicate and motivate consumers to be a more proactive consumer of energy. With the myriad of appliances and consumer electronic devices in homes--many of them significant energy loads--it is critical that the concept of Home Energy Management (HEM) is included in the broader Smart Grid discussion.
At GridWeek this year, several panel sessions will bring HEM into their discussions. From looking at how HEMs will change the future consumption of energy in the Looking Forward-themed Tuesday sessions, to understanding how HEM will need to be integrated in the broader strategic solution and, on Thursday, discussions on the deployment of HEM and HEM enabling technologies such as smart meters and residential gateways and displays.
