Patricia Hoffman is a Senior Executive at the Department of Energy and the new Deputy Director of the R&D division for the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability. As Deputy Director, she is responsible for developing and implementing a long-term strategy to modernize and improve the resiliency of the electric grid. She directs research on visualization, storage, high temperature superconductivity and power electronics as well as the distributed systems integration demonstrations which includes storage, distributed generation and advanced controls. Her prior experience focused on distributed generation research (gas turbines, reciprocating engines) within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
