Kevin Messner joined the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) in 2008. he currently is Vice President, Policy & Government Relations. Messner is responsible for directing and implementing AHAM’s legislative, regulatory, political and grassroots programs. He plays a key role in advancing AHAM’s positions on public policy issues.
Prior to joining AHAM, Messner served as Associate Administrator of the Office of Congressional & Intergovernmental Affairs and the Office of Governmentwide Policy at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). In this role, he was the chief senior executive manager responsible for all aspects of GSA’s communications and coordina¬tion with Congress and state/local governments, as well as the development and implementation of federal policies affecting the entire federal government.
Messner worked in Congress for nearly 10 years, ending as Chief of Staff for U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe, Chairman of the Foreign Operations Appropriations subcommittee. Messner’s private sector experience includes working as an engineer with General Motors. Messner earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and an MBA in International Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
