Consumers will play a key role in the acceleration of the Smart Grid. Ultimately they are the users and beneficiaries of the technology. The consumer will also bear some of the cost of Smart Grid deployments. New technologies may be wonderful and have many capabilities but if the end users do not understand how to use the capabilities or how it could benefit them, they will resist change. Consumer need to be able to understand benefits such as energy management, reduced usage, etc. This session will cover key aspects of consumer education such as functionalities, benefits, and value added services.
