Architecture of Smart Grid

Event Over

This session explores the role and importance of architecture in effectively managing the information necessary to implement smart grid applications. For many, the concept of architecture as it applies to information systems is too abstract to easily relate to specific application scenarios. The presentations and discussions in this track address this issue by introducing key concepts related to planning for application information exchange. This includes tools and concepts developed by the GridWise Architecture Council and the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel such as the GWAC Interoperability Stack and the SGIP Architecture Committee Conceptual Architecture. Presenters from within and outside of the energy sector relate real world experience on how architecture enables effective implementation of core applications in a highly integrated and interoperable environment.
