While Smart Grid technologies and business models have been evolving in recent years, broad adoption of smart grid in the U.S. will be accomplished once appropriate state and federal regulatory models are in place. This key conference theme within GridWeek aims to identify policies that work, common hurdles, and by working with federal and state regulators, uncover policy and regulatory changes that can be implemented to facilitate the adoption of smart grid in the U.S.
To bring innovative approaches to light and to address some of the factors that drive and create an environment for succesful grid modernization, GridWeek will host the Policy / Regulatory panel highlighting government's approach to smart grid. The purpose of this panel is to showcase regulators/ policymakers perspective on smart grid vision, perecived benefits and obstacles, and public policy issues surrounding smart grid implementation. The intent is to learn from experiences of early adopters and commence process of establishment of best practices.
The panel will take place in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Participation from state and federal regulators and legislators is expected.
