Scott Anders

Mr. Anders is the director of the Energy Policy Initiatives Center at the University of San Diego. He joined EPIC in October 2005 as its inaugural director. In this capacity, he manages EPIC’s academic and research activities. One of EPIC’s first projects was a study to assess the feasibility of implementing smart-grid technologies in the San Diego area. Prior to joining the Energy Policy Initiatives Center (EPIC), Mr. Anders was director of policy and planning at the San Diego Regional Energy Office (SDREO), where he directed legislative and regulatory activities. Before joining the Regional Energy Office in 1999, Mr. Anders was a policy researcher for the Washington D.C. think tank Center for a Sustainable Economy, where he researched market-based policy options in the energy and environmental sectors. Mr. Anders was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa. He holds an M.A. in public policy, with a concentration in environmental policy, from the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy.
